Use a tall drinking glass and fill half way with ice. Add each one of the liquors. Fill glass with orange juice and add a splash of cranberry juice. Add a orange slice as a garnish. Enjoy!
EDIT: We went to the movies today and saw Happy Feet with Anthony. He loved it! It was a really funny, cute flick. I highly recommend it. We also bought T a big boy toddler bed (will pick it up tomorrow)! Well, off to start dinner....on the menu tonight...."oh so good French Onion Soup" via Rachel Ray. I highly recommend this recipe. 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
6 medium onions, thinly sliced
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 teaspoons fresh thyme, picked and chopped or poultry seasoning
1 bay leaf, fresh or dried
1/2 cup dry sherry
6 cups beef stock
4 thick slices crusty bread, toasted
2 1/2 cups shredded Gruyere or Swiss cheeseHeat
a deep pot over medium to medium high heat. Work next to the stove to
slice onions. Add oil and butter to the pot. Add onions to the pot as
you slice them. When all the onions are in the pot, season with salt
and pepper and 1 teaspoon fresh thyme. Cook onions 15 to 18 minutes,
stirring frequently, until tender, sweet and caramel colored. Add bay
leaf and sherry to the pot and deglaze the pan drippings. Add 6 cups
stock and cover pot to bring soup up to a quick boil. Arrange 4 small, deep soup bowls or crocks on a cookie sheet.
Preheat broiler to high. Once soup reaches a boil, ladle it into bowls.
Float toasted crusty bread on soup and cover each bowl with a mound of
cheese. Sprinkle remaining fresh thyme on cheese and place cookie sheet
with soup bowls on it under hot broiler until cheese melts and bubbles.

| Christmas was extra special this year. Anthony is finally old enough to get excited about presents and that made it a very fun Christmas morning. Anthony LOVES Dinosaurs and I can't even count the amount of dinos he got....they're EVERYWHERE! I got some very fun and unexpected gifts from my hubby and we got TiVo! I'll be trying to set that up today. We also got a new digital camera from Matt's parents....very excited about that!
New Years was spent at Meme's house with mine and Matt's families. Anthony stayed up till midnight and then we went home ...and passes out.....when did we get so old :(
All in all it was a quite relaxing (and yet still stressful at times) holiday week long event. Unfortunately this new year has brought a cold to my little man. Anthony's had a runny nose and now a nasty cough for the last 4 days. I'm thinking of bringing him to see the Dr. We'll see how that goes. with this cold has some a series of sleepless nights due to an additional little wiggly body in our bed. It was just suppose to be one night and now it's turned into 4. Anthony cries when I put him to go to sleep in his bed....which then causes his nose to drip like crazy and his screaming aggravates his throat...which then leads to coughing fits. So, whilst my little man is sick and needs his mama, I'm obliged to appease him, lay down with him and let him fall asleep in our bed. However, I am dreading having to go back, once this cold is no more, and letting him cry it out in his bed all over again. ~sigh~
Some New Year's resolutions;
Matt and I are going to try and read through the Bible this year ( last year this only lasted until March)
I got a whole Pilates kit for Christmas and plan to be using it at least 3 to 4 time a week. Maybe I'll finally be able to shed these last 10lbs and get back the flat stomach I use to have.....just in time to get fat again and possible think about expanding our little family...we'll see.
POTTY TRAINING! ~urgh~ This year is definitely the year of no more diapers. I bought Anthony big boy underwear for Christmas (They look too cute on him by the way). I am determinded he will be potty trained before the summer. Any tips from mom who've been through this is ALWAYS welcome. He's definitely ready and already goes poopies and peeps on the potty....just not consistantly. Plus now he seems afraid to got number 2 on the potty and he only goes peepee when I put him on...he never tells me he has to go.
Save money. This is definitely the year we buckle down and put away the cash. We are determinded to own a bigger something within the next year and a half.
So that's all for now. Since I haven't posted in forever, I guess this was long over due. ps: for those interested.....we finally found a new home for our kitten two weeks before Christmas.....THANK GOODNESS!
I'll post some new pics later on today.
EDIT: Yes, I've finally put a new profile pic up :) This is Roo wearing his Mr Potato-Head's glasses.....classic crazy Roo. :)

| Well, the time has come to give our baby Hobbs away. Unfortunately, our little apartment is too small for the three of us and little Hobbs.....though extremely adorable ....he's in need of more attention and care then we are able to give him. So I'm putting the word out to see if anyone is interested in adopting a very cute, very playful little kitten who is in need of a warm and loving home.
Basically, due to mine and Matt's work schedule, we are just not able to give Hobbs the attention he needs at such a young age. He's very playful and active and needs more room to himself than our small apartment can give him.
A couple things you should know:
Due to his young age (almost 3 months) whoever is interested in adopting Hobbs should know that he will still continue to require his vaccinations periodically throughout his first year. As well as other routine visits now and then. He will have gotten his first two vaccinations as of next Wednesday (He already was given his first one a month ago). He also has already been tested for feline aids, feline leukemia, rabies, and parasites, (which he came back negative for all) and has been administered two doses of a de-worming medication (this is a precautionary routine). These are all routine tests and precautions taken that our Vet said all kittens need to have in order to determine their health and make sure they stay healthy. So rest assured that you will be adopting a very clean healthy kitten.
I do however want to advise anyone with small children in the house that Hobb IS a kitten and as such, he can get very active at times of the day- chasing, jumping, scratching, and biting (not out of aggression, but out of a need to scratch and play). Anthony has the nicks and scratches to prove it. Hobbs is also house trained - as in he ALWAYS goes in the litter box (He's NEVER had an accident). Right now he's strictly an indoor cat, if his new owners want to let him outside he will need to get flea shots and other precautionary medications.
I really hope we're able to find Hobbs a good home. We love him to death, but with our small apartment and busy schedules, we feel that we're unable to give him the kind of home and attention a little kitten needs. Please let me know if anyone is interested. I would love nothing more that for him to be adopted by someone we know.

| GOD IS SO GOOD!
So BIG NEWS!!!
Samantha (my cousin) and Tyler gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on Sunday October 15th!!!! She is just THE CUTEST baby girl ever!!!!
Olivia Lily Peevey 6lbs 11oz. What a peanut! ~(sorry - can't believe I forgot to put her name up)
Also, in big news (only to a mom:).....Anthony is completly off all bottles and pacifiers and can I tell you it's been the best thing! Due to a case of thrush (totally gross) we went cold turkey and threw out every last bottle and pacifier (after getting a stern talking to from his pediatrician - apparently he should have been off these by 18 months - oops!) The first few nights were painful getting him to sleep (he cried for about and hour each night). But surprisingly this has been the best thing. He goes to sleep when we put him down, I don't have to worry about leaking bottles and changing sheets constantly, and best of all.....he sleeps through the WHOLE NIGHT! I mean, not even a peep till about 8 or 9 am! It's amazing! Next child....I'm doing this MUCH earlier. :) | | |
